A number of leading Italian companies have been present in Zimbabwe for many years and because of this and the great works they have carried out in the country (i.e. the imposing Kariba Dam built by the Consortium Salini-Impregilo), these companies boast a certain prestige. The huge potential of the Country’s economic growth has attracted a growing number of Italian companies, as proven by the participation of an ever increasing number of companieswithin the stands organized by the Embassy during the most important trade exhibitions. Machinery, spare-parts and chemical products make up the bulk of Italian exports while the products imported from Zimbabwe are mainlysteel industry related as well as ornamental stones, cotton and tobacco.
