The Ambassador

Born in Marsala on 20 November 1975, he graduated in Political Science (international studies) from the University of Palermo in 2000, with a thesis on the history of the European Community. He then obtained a degree in Law from the Niccolò Cusano University in Rome, specialising in Administrative Law.

Following a competitive examination, he entered the diplomatic service on 23 December 2002.

After an initial assignment at the Directorate-General for European Countries, in 2003 he joined the Press and Information Service, where he was responsible for media relations and institutional communication for the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In 2007, he was appointed First Commercial Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Athens.

In 2011, he was appointed Consul at the Consulate General of Italy in Buenos Aires.

In 2015, he returned to Rome to take up a position at the Directorate General for the Promotion of the Country System, where he followed the international activities of the Regions and contributed to the organisation of Expo Milano.

In 2016, he returned to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Head of the Office for Public Relations and Communication Resources.

Since 2021, he has served as Deputy Ambassador in Caracas.  He has been appointed Italian Ambassador to Zimbabwe in 2025.

In 2019, he was awarded the honour of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Republic.

He is married to Gabriela and has two children, Giorgio and Martina.
