The Embassy of Italy in Harare performs a function of representation and promotion of Italian interests in Zimbabwe, facilitating dialogue between the institutions of the two Countries and supporting the development of partnerships in the main areas of common interest. Through its activities, the Embassy fosters relations between institutions, companies and organizations of the two Countries, contributing to the promotion of economic, commercial and cultural cooperation and development initiatives. The collaboration between Italy and Zimbabwe is based on a relationship consolidated over time, characterized by the Italian presence in important infrastructural and development projects such as the Kariba Dam, the Tugwi-Mukosi Dam and the Osborne and Zhovhe Dams.
Today, bilateral cooperation extends to several strategic sectors, including infrastructure, energy, health, education, trade, investment and culture, with particular attention to skills development, the strengthening of local production systems and environmental sustainability.
On the basis of this, Italy and Zimbabwe aim to develop new opportunities for partnership and investment, while strengthening institutional, economic, cultural and social exchanges between the two Countries.
