25 MAY AFRICA DAY

Monday 25 May, AfricA Day, the day that commemorates the anniversary of the birth of the African Union and friendship and solidarity between Africa and Italy in the face of the health emergency from Covid-19.
This year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation celebrates this day with a musical marathon of African and Italian artists / musicians, on the initiative of Vice Minister Emanuela Del Re, in agreement with Minister Luigi Di Maio, and made by Farnesina.
Watch the music marathon online on Farnesina YouTube channel

Over 50 contributions from African and Italian artists, including Niccolò Fabi, Tommy Kuti, Kandy Guira, Mezzotone and Baba Sissoko and many others.
Musical performances are intervalled by short interventions by political personalities that, on an important occasion like this on May 25, highlight the importance of historical relations between Italy and Africa. We recommend the messages from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Italian Cooperation Luigi Di Maio, Vice Minister Emanuela C. Del King, South African Foreign Minister Pandor – currently South Africa is the President of the African Union – of United Nations Vice Secretary General Amina Mohammed, Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, of Burkina Faso Roch Marc , Vice President of the African Union Commission Kwesi Quartey, and the Executive secretary of UNECA Vera Songwe.
Africa and Italy together, united, against the pandemic!
