The Italian Design Day is the annual thematic review launched in 2017 by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration and with the support of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism.
IDD includes a rich schedule of promotional events created by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE Offices abroad. It has established itself over the years as an effective tool to support the promotion of design and the internationalization of a strategic industrial sector for our export. Every year, for the occasion, 100 testimonials become narrators of Italian design and creativity in the world.
The theme of the Italian Design Day 2020 is “Designing the future, development, innovation, sustainability, beauty” and is strongly linked to the proactive capacity of Italian design and the enlarged Made in Italy, to hypothesize ever new development scenarios, capable of overcoming self-referential rhetoric and keeping the improvement of life at the center of the proposals and the protection of the planet. An even more topical issue when compared to the context of the health emergency that we are all experiencing.
